“I booked Tim to do some research for my mom’s birthday present. She was blown away by how much he was able to find about her family. This would make a great present for anyone in your life who has interest in their roots."

From 19 to 365 Ancestors

2021 Project

My first clients (husband and wife) knew 19 ancestors beyond their parents. After my research, I was able to identify 141 ancestors (through just 9 generations).

In all, I was able to find 365 ancestors for their children. This included research already done and published by other researchers. Finding solid connections to other research can be an important part of genealogical research.

I was also able to link my client to a GGGG Grandfather who had an influential role in the beginnings of Utah and the Mormon church.

30 of 32 GGG Grandparents

I personally discovered the names and identities of 18 of these 30 GGG Grandparents through my own research. 12 of my GGG grandparents were either known before or were researched by other family members.

My GGG Grandparents were born from 1797 to 1838. Eight of them were born in Ireland, two of them were born in Denmark, two (unknown) were born in Germany. Records from the 1700s and 1800s can be hard to verify and confirm through online sources only. Trips to Salt Lake City, Fort Wayne, and many other smaller libraries and courthouses have proven fruitful in connecting to my GGG Grandparents.

I most recently discovered the name of my GGG Grandmother, Mary Lewis (who died before 1850), on the death record of her son. Her other two children had no such records to tie them together. Her son’s death record is the only record that records her name.

1897 James Smith Dr. Morey statement copy.jpg
"One of my favorite finds in my research is the Civil War Pension file of my GGG Grandfather James Smith. It includes an 1890s investigation into a previously unknown marriage to a woman who tried to claim his pension a year after he died. My GG grandmother (James's daughter) admits to not knowing her father married again.  The doctor's statement (background image) of how James died is both horrific and fascinating"
