Research Accomplishments

Patrick and Catherine Foley Family around 1895 copy.jpg

From 19 to 365 Ancestors

One of my first clients (husband and wife) knew 19 ancestors beyond their parents. After my research, I was able to identify 141 ancestors (through just 9 generations).

In all, I was able to find 365 ancestors for their children. This included research already done and published by other researchers. Finding solid connections to other research can be an important part of genealogical research.

My Great Great Grandmother is Danish

Before I researched my GG Grandmother, Julia Peterson, we knew that she was married twice, died in 1895, and had family that lived in Iowa.

I searched through newspapers, marriage records, city directories, cemetery records, census records, tax lists, divorce records, birth records, Danish records, and other sources to connect her to her parents and siblings.

I connected with other researchers who had done research on her siblings. Currently, I have discovered over 600+ relatives of my great, great grandmother Julia Peterson Willhoft Reimers. I also discovered a yearlong third marriage that ended in divorce in 1887.

In 2015, my mom, siblings, and I were able to travel to Sæby, Denmark  where the Petersons lived just before coming to America.
